{"id":11792,"date":"2012-01-24T07:29:54","date_gmt":"2012-01-24T12:29:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=11792"},"modified":"2012-01-24T07:29:54","modified_gmt":"2012-01-24T12:29:54","slug":"in-search-of-an-honest-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=11792","title":{"rendered":"In Search Of An Honest Election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2012\/01\/24\/la-secy-of-state-doj-abusing-motor-voter-law-for-political-agenda\/\">Daily Caller<\/a>\u00a0is reporting that Louisiana Secretary of State Tom Schedler has charged that\u00a0the\u00a0Obama Justice Department is using selective enforcement of parts of the federal Motor Voter law to advance a political agenda.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The Obama DOJ <a href=\"http:\/\/www.justice.gov\/crt\/about\/vot\/nvra\/la_nvra_comp.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">filed suit<\/a> against Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal\u2019s administration\u00a0in July 2011, claiming that the state failed to provide eligible voters with sufficient opportunities to register.\u00a0Under Section 7 of the Motor Voter law that President Bill Clinton signed in 1993, state health and social service agencies are required to offer voter registration forms to all eligible adults.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Project Vote, an affiliate of the Association of Community Organizations for <a id=\"KonaLink1\" href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2012\/01\/24\/la-secy-of-state-doj-abusing-motor-voter-law-for-political-agenda\/#\">Reform Now<\/a> (ACORN) has filed\u00a0a separate Motor Voter\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thepelicanpost.org\/2011\/08\/02\/louisiana-officials-targeted-by-obama-lawyers-naacp-in-%E2%80%9Cmotor-voter%E2%80%9D-suits\/\" target=\"_blank\">suit<\/a>\u00a0against Louisiana,\u00a0in partnership with the NAACP.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The lawsuits do not deal with the enforcement of Section 8 of the law, which requires that the states keep voter rolls up to date by purging\u00a0the names of deceased and ineligible voters in order to reduce the opportunity for voter fraud. Unfortunately, that has not been done in most states, and dead people routinely vote in elections.
