According to a press release by SaratogaMuseum.org<\/a>, the Juliett 484, a Russian submarine which at one point had been a museum open to the public in Providence, RI, is being taken to the scrap yard to be dismantled and recycled. The Juliett 484 sank in April of 2007 during a heavy storm.<\/p>\n The press release also states:<\/p>\n “However, Frank Lennon, president of USS Saratoga Museum Foundation, former owners of the sub, has confirmed that the Foundation stands to obtain potentially significant “This will be a real financial boost to our ongoing efforts to bring the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga to life in Rhode Island as a family attraction, job training center, educational facility and Navy memorial,” said Lennon.”<\/font><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n As the wife of someone who was involved in the Anti-Submarine Warfare of the 1960’s, I look forward to the opening of the Saratoga Museum. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" According to a press release by SaratogaMuseum.org, the Juliett 484, a Russian submarine which at one point had been a museum open to the public in Providence, RI, is being taken to the scrap yard to be dismantled and … Continue reading \n
