{"id":10639,"date":"2011-12-04T21:21:35","date_gmt":"2011-12-05T02:21:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=10639"},"modified":"2011-12-04T21:21:35","modified_gmt":"2011-12-05T02:21:35","slug":"the-free-market-eventually-triumphs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=10639","title":{"rendered":"The Free Market Eventually Triumphs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2011\/12\/04\/as-human-embryo-stem-cell-research-fades-into-obsolescence-political-fallout-crystallizes\/#ixzz1fbYsyvA1\">Daily Caller<\/a>\u00a0posted a story about a change in the research\u00a0and use of\u00a0stem cells.<\/p>\n<p>The article reported:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Geron Corp., the world\u2019s leading embryo research company, announced it was closing down its much-touted stem cell program, despite the guarantee of more government aid from Democratic-affiliated sources.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The article explained that most stem cells used in hospitals and medical facilities today are adult stem cells taken from the patient&#8217;s own body.<\/p>\n<p>The article concludes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Those \u201cadult stem cells\u201d can be stimulated to regenerate damaged <a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2011\/12\/04\/as-human-embryo-stem-cell-research-fades-into-obsolescence-political-fallout-crystallizes\/\">hearts<\/a> and other organs. In one peer reviewed study published on Nov. 16, more than a dozen heart-failure patients gained an average 12 percent improvement in heart function from their own stimulated stem cells.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>This uncontroversial adult cell technology was pioneered by hospitals, not drug companies.
