Through The Looking Glass

Through the looking glass is the only way I can describe this recent turn of events.

On Wednesday, The Conservative Review reported the following:

Attorneys for Hunter Biden asked the Department of Justice to investigate several allies of former President Donald Trump, including Rudy Giuliani, for allegedly disseminating personal data from his laptop.

The letters sent to the Justice Department’s National Security Division were obtained by ABC News.

One called for a probe into “individuals for whom there is considerable reason to believe violated various federal laws in accessing, copying, manipulating, and/or disseminating Mr. Biden’s personal computer data.”

Another letter to the Delaware attorney’s general office accused those who spread data from the laptop of violating “various Delaware laws.”

NBC cited a person familiar with Hunter Biden’s strategy who said he wants to fight back against those attacking him in the media.

“This marks a new approach by Hunter Biden and his team,” the source says, according to ABC News. “He is not going to sit quietly by as questionable characters continue to violate his rights and media organizations peddling in lies try to defame him.”

It would be a good idea to point out that the computer was abandoned at the computer repair shop. At that point it becomes the property of the owner of the shop–much like your clothes at the cleaners if you do not pick them up in the designated amount of time. After the laptop was abandoned, Hunter Biden had not right to it–it was no longer his.

The article concludes:

Critics allege that tech companies tried to keep the laptop story from the public in an attempt to protect then-candidate Joe Biden and help him defeat Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

Hunter Biden’s business dealings have been under federal investigation since 2018.

Some of those companies claim that their efforts were only meant to enforce terms of service rules against propagating stolen data. In August, Mark Zuckerberg told Joe Rogan on his podcast that they shut down the story because they had been warned by the FBI about Russian disinformation meant to derail the election.

The interesting part of this is that the lawyers are now admitting that the laptop in question belongs to Hunter Biden. Considering what is alleged to be on the laptop, that is a risky admission.

This Is NOT Good News

The World Economic Forum is meeting in Davos, Switzerland, from January 16th to January 20th. The meeting is an annual event where people who are concerned about climate change fly in on their private jets to see if they can find a way to limit the carbon footprint of everyone else. The World Economic Forum is also the place where those enamored of one-world government (with them in charge) and no national sovereignty for any nation make their plans. It is not good news that some American lawmakers and politicians are planning to attend.

On Thursday, The Conservative Review reported the following:

Multiple U.S. figures, including some Republicans, are slated to be involved in the World Economic Forum’s upcoming annual meeting.

Republicans including Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Rep. Maria Salazar of Florida are listed as participants in the “America (Un)Bound” event at the meeting, along with Democrats including Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware, Rep. Mikie Sherrill of New Jersey, Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, who recently switched from being a Democrat to being an independent, but who is still currently listed as part of the Senate Democratic caucus.

A spokesperson for Kemp reportedly said in statement that the governor “looks forward to traveling to Davos to share with leaders how the State of Georgia’s long record of conservative governance, protecting individual liberty, and championing opportunity can serve as a model for economic success across the country and around the world.”

Governor Kemp is either hopelessly naive or lying through his teeth. There is no other option.

The article continues:

GOP Reps. Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin and Darrell Issa of California are listed as part of the U.S. delegation to the meeting. While an older version of the webpage included GOP Sen. James Risch of Idaho on the list, the current version of the webpage does not include Risch. Sinema’s name was also included on the older version of the webpage, but is not on the current version, though the WEF indicates that Sinema will participate in the “America (Un)Bound” event at the meeting.

The article concludes:

Issa issued a statement in which he criticized the WEF but explained why he believes in attending the meeting.

“Over the years, the World Economic Forum has gotten much wrong – from crippling COVID lockdowns, to climate extremism, to exacerbating the global energy crisis, to the manifest dangers of the Chinese Communist Party,” Issa said in the statement. “No conservative should be unwilling to go where progressive activists, world leaders, and the mainstream media are gathered and tell them when they are wrong.”

“As I attend the World Economic Forum – with bipartisan Congressional colleagues – I will not be a silent observer. I will continue to be a forceful voice for our conservative values of liberty and freedom and the best of what makes America great,” Issa said.

See the above statement about Governor Kemp. It also applies here.

The Scam Of Green Energy

On Wednesday, Daniel Horowitz posted an article at Conservative Review pointing out what we should have learned from the Christmas energy crisis in America.

The article notes:

What’s the modus operandi of our dystopian government? Creating a needless deadly crisis, blocking the effective way for dealing with it thereafter, and foisting upon the world instead a dangerous and ineffective way of dealing with it. That might sound a lot like COVID, but it’s largely what officials have been planning for a long time with energy, and now that the population is primed for lockdowns, disruptions, and total authoritarian control as a result of COVID, that is what they plan to do with our energy grid. All for a lie.

This was the coldest Christmas in a half-century in much of the U.S., with many localities setting records, including those not accustomed to the cold like Tallahassee, Florida. Many of us are disgusted at those limiting our natural energy in favor of novel, ineffective energy, thereby causing a doubling or even tripling of home heating bills. But we must also realize that if they had their way, we’d have no heating in our homes at all.

Just like the supposed source of COVID and how to deal with it were lies, our energy crisis is wholly contrived and built upon the lie of global warming. Typically, you would have to make sure we are 100% correct about the “science” behind such irrevocable economic and societal changes before committing civilization suicide by destroying the only reliable sources of energy we have. But in a post-“Great Reset” world, this is par for the course. In fact, the science behind global warming is just as flimsy as the science behind lockdowns, masks, and mRNA shots.

The article notes how inaccurate past climate-change predictions have been:

During the Copenhagen climate summit in 2009, chief climate priest Al Gore asserted, “Some of the models suggest … that there is a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.” Predictions like this upended our lives with more expensive and more decrepit vital products and services being produced for a generation under the false pretense of taming a crisis that never existed. It turns out that since 2012, the mass of Arctic sea ice is up 31% and Greenland is gaining, not losing, ice. Meanwhile, Antarctica, which was always gaining ice during the period when the Arctic was losing ice, subsequently lost ice last decade and is now regaining it. In other words, the science behind polar ice caps seems to be rooted in the same cherry-picked timing and data as the faux science behind global warming causing either fewer or more hurricanes.

Yet somehow, we are to believe the science is all figured out on how to tamper with global temperatures, just like it was with COVID. Rather than people being more primed to believe in government control after COVID, any thinking person should be even more suspect of official climate lies and the accompanying life-altering policy changes governments want to induce based on them. And boy, would these policy changes be life-altering.

Please follow the link to read the entire article. It is becoming even more apparent that the quest for green energy is not about the environment at all–it is about creating a society where a small group of people control the lives of everyone else.

The Respect For Marriage Act Doesn’t Respect Marriage

On Tuesday, The Conservative Review posted an article about The Respect for Marriage Act that is now making its way through Congress. The Respect for Marriage Act is nothing more than the Biden administration (and Congress’) attempt to silence people who support and believe in traditional marriage.

The article explains the consequences of passing this law:

What will happen is this: Christians, Jews, Muslims, and anyone else who dares maintain that marriage is a lifelong conjugal union between one man and one woman — the definition of marriage for thousands of years until the U.S. Supreme Court descended from Mount Sinai with Obergefell v. Hodges inscribed on stone tablets — will be branded a bigot and driven from the public square and marketplace.

Anyone who owns a small business related to the wedding industry — photographers, bakers, website designers, venue owners, caterers, florists — will be sued into oblivion if they refuse services to same-sex couples. Religious colleges and universities will lose their tax-exempt status. Religious institutions of every kind, if they hold to their teachings and traditions about marriage, will face an onslaught from the Department of Justice and the federal bureaucracy.

To paraphrase George Orwell’s famous line, if you want a picture of the future under the Respect for Marriage Act, imagine a boot stamping on Jack Phillips’ face — forever.

The untrammeled exercise of power and the vigorous crushing of dissent is the entire purpose of the proposed law. There can be no other possible justification for it. Michael New, an assistant professor at the Busch School of Business at The Catholic University of America, recently told The Daily Signal that Catholic colleges and universities in particular might face ruinous lawsuits and loss of federal funding if the bill is signed into law.

The article concludes:

The justification for the bill is just as outlandish and offensive as the argument that it presents no danger to religious Americans. In the wake of the Dobbs decision this summer, we were warned that some future Supreme Court opinion, following Justice Clarence Thomas’s logic, could overturn Obergefell and other substantive due process rulings such as Loving v. Virginia, which struck down state laws banning interracial marriage.

The purpose of this claim, in case it isn’t bone-crushingly obvious, is to lump opponents of gay marriage in with opponents of interracial marriage, to smear them as bigots who aren’t just on the wrong side of history, but who are about to be on the receiving end of a federal government empowered to go after them.

And if you think that can’t really be how proponents of the Respect for Marriage Act think about traditional-minded Americans, go ask Jack Phillips how he’s faring after winning his Supreme Court case in 2018.

This is a bad bill. Any Republican who supports this bill should be subject to a primary challenge during the next election.

Public Schools In Some Places Need To Be Closed

The insanity in our public schools is out of control. Today, The Conservative Review reported the following:

A Rhode Island elected school board official involved in promoting a diversity, equity, and inclusion agenda in the district, recently came under fire for claiming that intentionally “misgendering” someone is an “act of violence” that “needs to be dealt with accordingly.”

Jennifer Lima, elected member of the North Kingstown School Committee, shared a social media post from an activist group on November 12 that read, “Purposefully misgendering students is an act of violence. Respond accordingly.”

Lima added to the shared post, “I recognize that some may find the use of the word violence in this post extreme.”

“Any act of violence in our schools which creates an unsafe environment (physically or emotionally by or for any member of the school community) needs to be dealt with accordingly,” Lima continued.

Lima was consequently slammed online by critics who interpreted her post as advocating a violent response to using incorrect pronouns.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Lima explained, “I also believe that purposely misgendering someone is an act of psychological violence when done deliberately and consistently and should be responded to accordingly.”

The article concludes:

Nicole Solas, a senior fellow with the Independent Women’s Forum, disagreed and told Fox News Digital, “If you believe you’re under threat of violence then to ‘respond accordingly’ means you act in self-defense, which is a physical and often violent action taken to protect yourself.”

“Her public call for students to ‘respond accordingly’ to non-existent violence is her own tacit call to violence against those who oppose her radical ideology,” Solas continued. “She creates a hostile, paranoid school environment where violence is now more likely to happen thanks to her hysterical message that danger lurks around every pronoun.”

Lima previously faced a failed recall effort in 2021 launched by the Gaspee Project, a Rhode Island-based nonprofit. The group accused Lima of pushing “antiracist” policies and a “Marxist” agenda.

The Gaspee Project stated that the school board official was “openly seeking to indoctrinate students with divisive race and gender theories as well as anti-police propaganda.”

Lima stated that the organization targeted her for being “vocal about deeper antiracism education.”

North Kingstown is a pretty town on the West side of Narragansett Bay. For many years it was the home of Quonset Point Naval Air Station and the Davisville Seabee base. Because it was a military town, it tended to be conservative despite being in a liberal state. It is sad to see a teacher in this quiet little town trying to indoctrinate her students and incite violence. She should be recalled.

Shouldn’t They Have Done This First?

On Sunday, The Conservative Review reported:

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine on Dec. 11, 2020. A week later, the FDA issued an EUA for Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine. Now, nearly two years later, Pfizer and Moderna will launch clinical trials to track adverse health issues stemming from the COVID-19 vaccines, such as myocarditis – inflammation of the heart muscle.

Pfizer is in the infancy of beginning clinical trials to determine if there are any health risks associated with their own vaccine. In a partnership with the Pediatric Heart Network, the trial will focus on vaccine recipients who have suffered heart issues following being jabbed with the COVID-19 vaccine. The clinical trials will monitor patients for five years.

Enrollment for the study in the U.S. and Canada has not started yet. However, the research team has already identified more than 250 patients with myocarditis, according to Dr. Dongngan Truong – a pediatrician at the University of Utah Health and a co-lead on the Pfizer study.

NBC News reported on Friday, “The team will also compare the patients to a subset of patients with multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children, also known as MIS-C, which is associated with a COVID infection.”

The article concludes:

In July 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a report that stated: “An elevated risk for myocarditis among mRNA COVID-19 vaccinees has been observed, particularly in males aged 12–29 years.”

The report found, “Myocarditis reporting rates were 40.6 cases per million second doses of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines administered to males aged 12−29 years.”

The CDC added, “Myocarditis and pericarditis have rarely been reported. When reported, the cases have especially been in adolescents and young adult males within several days after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna).”

In April, an Israeli large-population study of 196,992 unvaccinated adults who were post-COVID-19 infection were “not associated with either myocarditis or pericarditis.”

“We did not observe an increased incidence of neither pericarditis nor myocarditis in adult patients recovering from COVID-19 infection,” the authors wrote.

I believe that the federal government wants to include the Covid vaccine in its list of vaccines required for children to attend school. Until this study is completed, that is not a good idea.

When The Spin And The Facts Disagree

On Wednesday, The Conservative Review noted the Biden administration’s latest claim in their list of accomplishments.

The White House sent out the following Tweet:

Now, normally that might be something to brag about, but there is a catch–the increase in Social Security is linked by law to inflation–the White House has nothing to do with it.

The article notes:

Twitter added a fact check to the tweet, noting that while Seniors will receive an increase in their social security benefits, it’s “due to the annual cost of living adjustment, which is based on the inflation rate.”

CNN’s fact-checker Daniel Dale called the White House’s claim “quite the spin.”

“The size of Social Security checks is linked, by law, to inflation. This year’s increase is unusually big because the inflation rate is unusually big.”

Former President Richard Nixon signed a law into place in 1972 that granted automatic benefit adjustments based on the Consumer Price Index.

Frankly I would be happier with the same amount of Social Security if my dollars were actually worth anything. Inflation is a tax on everyone, and right now we are overtaxed.

The Power Of The States

On Monday, Daniel Horowitz posted an article at The Conservative Review about the power of State Sovereignty. Our current administration (and many administrations before them) have chosen to ignore the Tenth Amendment.

The Tenth Amendment states:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Please follow the link above to read the entire article–it contains some interesting information about what is currently happening in Canada that we can learn from.

The article notes:

Last week, I posted a comprehensive analysis of the scope of power Republicans hold in state government and how they are likely to dramatically expand it. Between trifecta control and supermajorities in legislatures, they could conceivably hold the power to pass legislation unchallenged by Democrats in at least 30 states. As such, when national Republican leaders lament the limits of their power to check the Biden administration in Washington for lack of full control of government, we must remind them it doesn’t absolve the party of its duty to enforce the Constitution in the states Republicans control.

What does that look like? Governors and legislators need to announce that when the federal government seeks to violate the Constitution, statutes, the rights of the people, or the social compact itself by openly engaging in destruction of our food, energy, and natural resources, those policies will be blocked in the states.

Practically, what does that mean?

The first bill all GOP-controlled legislatures should pass when most of them convene in January is a law allowing them via concurrent resolution to declare a federal policy, regulation, or statute unconstitutional. That would automatically, pursuant to this law, have the effect of criminalizing the enforcement of that policy within the state’s boundaries by any state or local official or state-funded NGO. It would also call upon the state law enforcement agencies to work directly with the governor to, with all practicable means, block any attempts of federal officials to enforce those edicts.

On specific issues, this means:

    • All federal policies regarding transgenderism cannot be enforced.
    • All federal policies concerning medical mandates, surveillance, or public health policies deemed harmful or unconstitutional are prohibited.
    • All federal policies locking up state fuel, food, or natural resources are suspended.
    • All FBI raids on residents of the state that are prima facie political persecutions when no allegation of violence is brought are illegal and will be thwarted by all means possible.
    • All cooperation with federal law enforcement on surveillance, information sharing, or apprehension of political opponents is suspended.

Please read the rest of the article– it may hold the solution to the current lawlessness in Washington.

Follow The Money

Abortion may become the cigarette smoking issue of the 2020’s (see article here). Obviously, Planned Parenthood will do everything possible to prevent that from happening–abortion is where they make their money. On Thursday, The Conservative Review posted an article about one of Planned Parenthood’s moves to protect their income source.

The article reports:

On Thursday, Planned Parenthood announced its plan to invest $5 million in the North Carolina midterm elections to back pro-abortion Democrat nominees.

Planned Parenthood Votes and Planned Parenthood Action PAC North Carolina aim to use the funds for ads, mailings, phone banks, and canvassing in 14 legislative swing districts.

Deputy director of Planned Parenthood Action PAC North Carolina Emily Thompson stressed that the organization’s goal is to prevent a Republican supermajority in the general assembly. She said that the campaign is focusing recourses on five Senate races.

“If we don’t elect reproductive rights champions in five key state Senate races, an anti-abortion supermajority will have the votes to ban abortion in North Carolina,” Thompson stated. “And if we don’t defend two critical North Carolina Supreme Court seats, we will lose our last line of defense against restrictive state laws designed to rob us of our right to make our own health care decisions.”

The wording here is important. No one is robbing anyone of the right to make their own health care decisions. If you don’t want to have a child, don’t engage in the activities that cause pregnancy. It’s that simple. No one is forcing you to get pregnant. What the limits on abortions are doing is protecting the life of the unborn. When abortion was made legal in January 1973, medical science did not have the knowledge of unborn development that they have now. Now it is possible to keep a baby born months early alive with minimal negative consequences. In 1973, an early birth often resulted in permanent negative health issues.

I have seen the ads for the Supreme Court seats on television. The ads promote the fear of losing women’s rights to health care. What about the baby’s right to health care? It is time to look at the scientific advancements made regarding unborn babies and base our decisions on current information. It is a child from the time it is conceived, so the question is, “Do we want to be a culture that says it is okay to kill a child?”

Targeting Political Enemies?

On Saturday, The Conservative Review reported on an FBI raid on the home of Mark Houck, a Catholic author, lecturer, radio host, and co-founder of The King’s Men – a club for men “to unite and build up other men in the mold of leader, protector, and provider through education, formation, healing, and action.”

The article reports:

Houck’s wife, Ryan-Marie Houck, told LifeSiteNews, “For ‘weeks and weeks,’ a ‘pro-abortion protester’ would speak to the boy saying ‘crude … inappropriate and disgusting things,’ such as ‘you’re dad’s a fag,’ and other statements that were too vulgar for her to convey.”

Houck’s wife claimed that Love got into “the son’s personal space” and refused to stop saying “crude… inappropriate and disgusting” comments at the father and son.

Mark Houck “shoved him away from his child, and the guy fell back” and he hit the ground. Houck allegedly pushed the pro-abortion man to the ground outside of the Planned Parenthood clinic a second time. Love – a 72-year-old volunteer escort at the abortion clinic – reportedly suffered injuries that required medical attention.

Police were called, but Houck was reportedly not charged because there was a “lack of evidence” of an assault.

Ryan-Marie Houck claimed that Love “tried to sue Mark,” but the case was thrown out of court this summer.

Around 7:05 a.m. on Friday, the Houck’s home was reportedly raided by 25 to 30 FBI agents and 15 government vehicles surrounded their house.

Ryan-Marie Houck said the FBI agents had their guns drawn and “they started pounding on the door and yelling for us to open it.”

Mark Houck allegedly told the FBI agents, “Please, I’m going to open the door, but, please, my children are in the home. I have seven babies in the house.”

When the front door was opened, Ryan-Marie said, “They had big, huge rifles pointed at Mark and pointed at me and kind of pointed throughout the house.”

“The kids were all just screaming,” she said. “It was all just very scary and traumatic.”

Houck was arrested and taken away.

The fact that Houck was not charged or arrested and the case was thrown out of court this past summer is suspicious. It sounds as if the person who was shoved knew who to contact to escalate the incident.

The Daily Wire posted an article today on the events, but added some interesting details and denials:

A spokesperson with the Philadelphia office of the FBI said SWAT was not involved with the arrest of Houck.

“There are inaccurate claims being made regarding the arrest of Mark Houck. No SWAT Team or SWAT operators were involved,” a spokesperson told Fox News. “FBI agents knocked on Mr. Houck’s front door, identified themselves as FBI agents and asked him to exit the residence. He did so and was taken into custody without incident pursuant to an indictment.”

Notably, a senior FBI source told Fox News there might have been 15-20 agents at the scene who came to the family’s door with guns out and at the ready. The source claimed that the guns were never pointed at Houck or his family.

If there are 15-20 people coming toward my house with guns, I really don’t care whether or not they are a SWAT Team–they are pretty intimidating. This is another example of the Justice Department harassing people whose politics disagree with those of the President.

Parents And Concerned Citizens Do Have A Voice

On Monday, The Conservative Review posted an article about “Back to School” drag show in Idaho. The show was canceled due to public outrage.

The article reports:

A “Back to School” drag show promoted for all ages in Idaho was canceled after online outrage.

The event was scheduled for September 24 at the College Market coffee shop in the city of Pocatello in southeast Idaho and was to be the second annual drag show of its kind.

“The free event aims to bring the fun and inviting spirit of drag to those who aren’t typically able to attend shows in their traditional setting (bars, clubs, etc.),” read one advertisement for the show.

On Friday, the popular Libs of TikTok account posted the advertisement for the drag show, and many responded with outrage.

Three days later on Monday, a post on the Facebook page for Southeastern-Idaho Pride said the show was canceled.

“We as a group have decided to cancel the September 24th Drag show,” the post read. “The event as planned was a G rated theatrical review, by all 18+ performers. However, due to the misinterpretation of marketing materials, and to mitigate the harm to our LGBTQ+ community, we feel it is best to not proceed with this performance.”

The advertisement for the show says that the event aims to bring the fun and inviting spirit of drag to those who aren’t typically able to attend shows in their traditional setting (bars, clubs, etc.), Has it occurred to anyone that there is a reason children are not typically able to attend these shows in their traditional setting? When did the people sponsoring these events decide they were appropriate for children?

The article concludes:

A similar drag show planned for the Boise Pride Festival faced backlash from those concerned about sexualization of children. The president of Boise Pride lashed out at critics and called the event a “celebration of self-expression and confidence.”

This is not a “celebration of self-expression and confidence.” It is a form of entertainment that is totally inappropriate for children.

Florida Is Fighting Human Trafficking

On Sunday, The Conservative Review posted an article about recent arrests in Florida for human trafficking.

The article reports:

There were 160 people arrested during an undercover sting targeting human trafficking. A Disney employee, corrections officer, a former deputy police chief, and teachers were among those arrested.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office led several law enforcement agencies in an undercover investigation called “Operation Fall Haul 2.” The seven-day sting operation focused on cracking down on human trafficking crimes.

During the press conference about Operation Fall Haul, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd joked, “Where would we be with an undercover operation and no Disney employees? Oh yes, we always have Disney employees.”

Disney bellhop Guillermo Perez, 57, was arrested after trying to have sex with an undercover detective for $80, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Samy Claude, 26, who was often contracted by Disney as a photographer, was also arrested. He reportedly attempted to have sex with an undercover cop and offered her a bag of sour Skittles.

Keith Nieves, 24, was arrested for two counts of soliciting a prostitute. Nieves is a correctional officer at the Lake County Correctional Institution.

Jason DiPrima, 49, allegedly gave an undercover detective $180 and a multi-pack of White Claw Hard Seltzer. At the time of his arrest, DiPrima was the Deputy Chief of Administration for the Cartersville Police Department in Georgia. DiPrima has since resigned from his position.

The article concludes:

Law enforcement seized cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, MDMA (Ecstasy), and marijuana during the undercover sting.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said seven people were arrested and suspected of being in the country illegally.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said it had encountered two human trafficking victims during the operation, along with five other possible victims.

WFLA reported, “One of the victims deputies encountered was a woman who was 10 weeks pregnant and was given drugs and fentanyl in hopes to abort her unborn child, who she did not want.”

For the human trafficking victims, the operation had the following social service organizations to assist: One More Child, Heartland for Children, My Name My Voice, and the Children’s Home Society of Florida.

“From the moment they come into the operation, we want to immediately hand them off to our social service friends and our counselors so they can begin working with these victims of human trafficking,” Judd noted.

Thank God they arrested the people they arrested and are helping the victims, but this is the tip of the iceberg. We need every state to do the kind of detective work that ends this practice.

The Cure?

On Saturday, The Conservative Review posted an article about a peer-reviewed study on the effectiveness of Ivermectin in treating the Covid virus.

The article reports:

A new peer-reviewed study found that regular use of ivermectin reduced the risk of dying from COVID-19 by 92%.

The large study was conducted by Flávio A. Cadegiani, MD, MSc, PhD. Cadegiani is a board-certified endocrinologist with a master’s degree and doctorate degree in clinical endocrinology.

The peer-reviewed study was published on Wednesday by the online medical journal Cureus. The study was conducted on a strictly controlled population of 88,012 people from the city of Itajaí in Brazil.

Individuals who used ivermectin as prophylaxis or took the medication before being infected by COVID experienced significant reductions in death and hospitalization.

The article concludes:

The study defined regular users as those who used more than 30 tablets of ivermectin over five months. The dosage of ivermectin was determined by body weight, but “most of the population used between two and three tablets daily for two days, every 15 days.”

“Non-use of ivermectin was associated with a 12.5-fold increase in mortality rate and a seven-fold increased risk of dying from COVID-19 compared to the regular use of ivermectin,” the study read. “This dose-response efficacy reinforces the prophylactic effects of ivermectin against COVID-19.”

Cadegiani believes the study showed a “dose-response effect” – which means that increasing levels of ivermectin decreased the risk of hospitalization and death from COVID-19.

Cadegiani wrote on Twitter, “An observational study with the size and level of analysis as ours is hardly achieved and infeasible to be conducted as a randomised clinical trial. Conclusions are hard to be refuted. Data is data, regardless of your beliefs.”

It’s interesting to me that those in the study took the Ivermectin before they contracted Covid.

In December 2020, The National Library of Medicine posted a report about the low death rate from Covid in African countries where Ivermectin was being used to control Onchocerciasis.

The article reports:

Results: After controlling for different factors, including the Human Development Index (HDI), APOC (African Programme for Onchocerciasis Control) countries (vs. non-APOC), show 28% lower mortality (0.72; 95% CI: 0.67-0.78) and 8% lower rate of infection (0.92; 95% CI: 0.91-0.93) due to COVID-19.

Conclusions: The incidence in mortality rates and number of cases is significantly lower among the APOC countries compared to non-APOC countries. That a mass public health preventive campaign against COVID-19 may have taken place, inadvertently, in some African countries with massive community ivermectin use is an attractive hypothesis. Additional studies are needed to confirm it.

I strongly suspect that had the pharmaceutical companies not been involved, we might have looked for a cure rather than a vaccine.

Frightening News For Parents

On Tuesday, The Conservative Review posted an article revealing the policy of The Gender Confirmation Center and Dr. Scott Mosser.

The article reports:

“The Gender Confirmation Center and Dr. Scott Mosser have some of the strictest criteria in the USA for operating on people below the age of 18. If the criteria are met, then the surgeons of the GCC will perform some forms of gender surgery on adolescents, and only with full consent of all legal guardians,” according to genderconfirmation.com. “Stay positive, Dr. Mosser has performed FTM/N top surgery on many patients under 18 who were able to secure their surgery using insurance,” the site says.

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh of the Daily Wire drew attention to Mosser: “Let me introduce you to Dr. Scott Mosser, who cuts the breasts off of adolescent girls. Many surgeons across the country will and do inflict ‘top surgery’ on minors. Mosser assures us that he follows very ‘strict’ guidelines before performing double mastectomies on children,” Walsh tweeted.

The article notes:

“I do not have a minimum age of any sort in my practice. There’s no chronological age that says you don’t get surgery,” he (Dr. Mosser) said in the video. He noted that he does not believe he had ever performed a consult for a 12-year-old, then added, “but we would, if one came our way. We just haven’t had reason to.”

These are not easily reversed medical procedures. Some are irreversible.  They also have the same risks as any medical procedure. Why are we permanently scarring the bodies of adolescents in order to promote something that is a mental illness? Gender Dysphoria is a mental illness, we should be treating it–not encouraging it.

Some Good News

On Tuesday, The Conservative Review reported:

On Monday, the FBI announced that it had located 84 underage victims of child sex trafficking and 37 missing children during a nationwide sex trafficking operation conducted this month. Of the minor victims rescued, the average age was 15.5, and the youngest victim was 11 years old. The FBI also located 141 adult victims of human trafficking.

Operation Cross Country,” the nationwide enforcement campaign, was an FBI-led operation that partnered with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and state, local, and federal agencies to initiate 391 operations across the nation during the first two weeks of August.

“The initiative really just takes a concentrated period of time where we’re just focused on the problem of child sex trafficking,” said FBI Section Chief Jose Perez. “What we do is we sit down with our local partners and our task forces and identify certain areas where we know sex trafficking is prevalent, and we’ll dedicate resources and efforts to identify and remove victims from those areas.”

The article concludes:

According to the NCMEC, runaway children make up the majority of missing minor cases reported to the non-profit. In 2021, the organization worked with authorities, families, and child welfare on 27,733 missing children cases. It reported that 19% of children who ran away from social services were likely victims of sex trafficking.

Cases of missing children are not required to be reported to the NCMEC. However, cases of missing children from social services care must be reported to the non-profit.

President and CEO of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children Michelle DeLaune said, “The success of Operation Cross County reinforces what NCMEC sees every day. Children are being bought and sold for sex in communities across the country by traffickers, gangs, and even family members.”

Our open southern border is an invitation for the cartels to engage in trafficking the minors they are illegally bringing into the country. Enforcing that border would help in the war against human trafficking.

Sometimes The Insurance Companies Have The Actual Information We Need

On August 15th, Daniel Horowitz posted an article at The Conservative Review about some interesting numbers from a German insurance company about claims for injuries from the Covid-19 vaccine.

The article reports:

According to data from Techniker Krankenkasse, the largest German medical insurance company, there were a total of 437,593 insurance claims billed under the four diagnostic codes for vaccine injury in 2021. To put those numbers in perspective, the total numbers billed for a vaccine injury code in the two preceding years was 13,777 and 15,044, respectively. As the Daily Skeptic notes, given that TK insures 11 million people, that means 1 in 23, or 4.3%, had a medical treatment billed for vaccine injury. And that assumes all 11 million were vaccinated. The background vaccination rate in Germany is 78%, although most of the unvaccinated are children, so the rate of injury per vaccinated person is likely even higher (5.1%).

Putting aside confounding factors, but just to provide a rough estimate to open your mind to the scope of this problem, a 4.3% clinical level injury rate, if extrapolated for the 223 million vaccinated in the United Sates, would equal approximately 9.6 million injured Americans. While that number sounds unconscionable, remember that this data harmonizes almost perfectly with the Israeli health ministry survey that found a 4.5% rate of neurological side effects just from those who received booster shots (not total doses, which is likely more).

The article also notes that the VAERS data is also in line with these numbers (although the Biden administration has downplayed the accuracy of the VAERS data).

The article concludes:

Neil (the incoming president of the Australian Medical Professionals Society, Christopher Neil) observes the obvious – that the degree of adverse event reporting is sky-high. “To be clear, the TGA has received more Adverse Event reports in 2021 through June 2022 for the COVID-19 vaccines, than they have been seen for all other vaccines in the preceding 50-year period.”

If you just take the data from VAERS and the EudraVigilance system of the European Medicines Agency, there were a total of 76,253 dead and 6,033,218 injured, as of mid-July. That in itself is mind-blowing, but if you adjust for an underreporting factor of 41, that would total nearly 1.9 million deaths and 247 million injuries! Amazingly, yet sickeningly, 247 million injuries would equal 4.6% of all the people jabbed on this third rock from the sun – nearly exactly the extrapolated rate of injury from the German medical billing data!

Some are asking whether Steve Deace and I were overly dramatic in calling this the Fourth Reich and demanding a Nuremberg trial. But as the days pass and the sheer horror of this becomes apparent, the public will want to know why there was no demand to abide by the Nuremberg Code from day one.

I do believe that at some point the lawsuits in America will begin. At that point Pfizer may find itself in a position similar to that of Purdue Pharma in the Oxycontin trial.

Biting The Hand That Feeds You

This article is not going to be about the need for new Republican leadership in Congress. It is going to be about what the current leadership has done to undermine the American middle class worker.

On Monday, The Conservative Review posted an article about the semiconductor bill passed by Congress that is supposed to help America manufacture the computer chips for cars and other electronic devices.

The article notes:

Republicans are all unanimous in their opposition to the reconciliation “Build Back Better” bill, but Mitch McConnell and 16 other Senate Republicans voted for the mini BBB bill, dumping billions of dollars into companies that have created a brain gain for China’s trade theft to drain our supply chains. Not only did McConnell agree to the bill despite the refusal of Democrats to entertain amendments ensuring that the jobs stay in America, but now these same companies are turning around and demanding more foreign workers to hire.

“In the near-term, the U.S. educational system does not produce enough Americans with the required qualifications to meet the demand of companies, not just in the semiconductor industry, but across the technical sector,” the HR officers of nine semiconductor companies wrote in a letter to congressional leaders. The nine companies were: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.; Ampere Computing; ASML US; Broadcom Inc.; Americas Global Foundries; Infineon Technologies; Americas Corp.; Intel Corporation; Samsung Semiconductor, Inc.; and Texas Instruments Incorporated.

Maybe we should fix our educational system instead of hiring foreign workers. However, blaming our educational system is a red herring. The problem is that foreign workers do not demand the salaries and benefits that American workers demand, thus increasing the profit margin of the companies involved.

The article notes:

Massive corporations lobbying for endless corporate welfare along with visa pork is what has demographically gerrymandered the American worker out of entire industries and what has ultimately led to China’s gain and our drain. The pipeline begins with F-1 student visas. In the case of foreign students, it’s really the god of public education, which is being subsidized happily by the Chinese. The universities get cash from the Chinese government, while the Chinese get operatives and intelligence officers into the country to work in academic fields and occupations. The rest of the American people lose. We bring in roughly 369,548 Chinese foreign students a year, together with 80,000 more on immigrant visas. In other words, there are about as many Chinese students in the U.S. as the entire university enrollment in the state of Maryland.

Noted right-wing outlet CNN reported in 2019, “The sheer size of the Chinese student population at U.S. universities presents a major challenge for law enforcement and intelligence agencies tasked with striking the necessary balance between protecting America’s open academic environment and mitigating the risk to national security.” Yet these tech companies think we are not bringing in enough Chinese immigrants. The director of national intelligence warned, “China’s intelligence services will exploit the openness of American society, especially academia and the scientific community, using a variety of means.”

The article concludes:

Indeed, corporate welfare mixed with endless visa pork has destroyed our sovereignty as citizens and has sold us out to transnational corporations that now have us over the barrel. Naturally, Congress will aggravate the very variables that got us into this mess.

This is only one example of the reason we need to drain the Washington swamp.

Mixed Emotions On A Recent Headline

The Biden administration has announced the killing of top al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri over the weekend. That’s a good thing. I have little doubt that al-Zawahiri is dead, I have a lot of doubt as to exactly what the truth is surrounding his death.

The Conservative Review points out a few problems with the announcement:

According to expert terrorism analyst Bill Roggio, the narrative that al-Zawahiri’s death was a counterterrorism success “masks the undeniable truth that Taliban-controlled Afghanistan is a safe haven for al-Qaeda.”

That is because, as Roggio explained, al-Zawahiri was “hiding” in plain-sight, i.e., he was not hiding at all.

“Zawahiri was killed in the Sherpur neighborhood, in a home run by a deputy of Sirajuddin Haqqani. Sirajuddin is of course one of two deputy Taliban emirs as well as the interior minister,” Roggio explained. “Zawahiri could not operate in Afghanistan — particularly in Kabul — without the consent of the Taliban. He wasn’t in the remote mountains of Kunar, Nuristan, or Nangarhar, or distant provinces of Ghazni, Helmand, or Kandahar. He was in the Taliban’s capital.”

The Conservative Treehouse is also somewhat skeptical of the narrative:

Everything about the supposed killing of al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al Zawahiri is suspect, weird and fishy.

♦First, Al Zawahiri has been reported as killed or dead at least a half dozen times in the last 10 years; including by natural causes.  ♦Second, Ayman Zawahiri was very old. Western citations put his age at 71 (born 1951), however, that is suspect (sounds like his younger brother’s age).  ♦Third, the location of his reported killing in Kabul is odd.  Zawahiri was known to avoid large populations, and even with the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan the tribal conflicts with factions of the Taliban would have been an issue.

♦Fourth, somehow the Taliban waited until after the U.S. intelligence community leaked the strike to the media before they issued a statement condemning the drone attack.  Since when does al-Qaeda wait 48+ hours to denounce hostile action in their territory?   Coordinating and timed joint press releases between the White House and ‘Taliban‘ to western media outlets is seriously sketchy.

♦Fifth, absolutely no official outline from the Pentagon or White House on this “successful counterterrorism strike“?  Despite a primetime presidential address, the White House has no announcement, no official statement, nothing, on their website.  Additionally, Biden leads off saying the attack was on Saturday, the Taliban waited 48-hours to denounce a U.S. drone strike?  Think about it.  Doesn’t add up.  More sketchy.

♦Sixth, and seemingly just an oddball addendum, Fox News breaks the story using Jennifer Griffin as lead reporter.  As I noted several days ago, Griffin had been missing from Fox News since she went bonzo in March attacking Tucker Carlson over his cynicism of the official State Dept and Pentagon narrative in Ukraine.

I am willing to rejoice that a terrorist has departed the earth, but I do wonder if the information we have been given is accurate. It is also disturbing to learn that Afghanistan is once again a safe haven for al-Qaeda.

Our Government Did Something Right!

On Wednesday, The Conservative Review posted an article about China’s offer to build a $100 million dollar garden in Washington, D.C. What could possibly go wrong?

Below is a generic picture of a pagoda (a pagoda is planned to be the center of the garden):

Can you imagine how much surveillance equipment could be crammed into this space?

The article reports:

The Chinese government offered to spend $100 million on building an “ornate Chinese garden” at the National Arboretum in Washington, D.C., and the project “thrilled local officials,” according to a CNN report.

While anyone with an ounce of common sense could have guessed that there was something sketchy about China’s generous offer, it apparently took a deep dive by U.S. counterintelligence officials to raise “numerous red flags.”

The FBI “quietly killed the project” after realizing that the park’s pagoda would have been strategically placed in the perfect spot for gathering sensitive military and government intelligence. There was also a little problem with the fact that Chinese officials planned to ship project materials in “diplomatic pouches,” meaning U.S. Customs officials could not check what was inside.

Considering the ties between the Biden administration and most of Congress to China, it is amazing that the project did not go forward. However, keep your eyes open–this may not be the last of this type of proposal by the Chinese.

Using Unusual Methods To Obtain A Clear Majority

At the present time, Congress is pretty divided. Currently there are 211 Republicans and 220 Democrats in the House of Representatives. There are four vacancies. In the Senate there are 50 Republicans, 48 Democrats, and 2 Independents who caucus with the Democrats (essentially a tie). The Democrats have talked about adding Washington, D.C., which would give them additional Democrat votes, but that would require an amendment to the Constitution, so they have come up with another idea.

On Friday, The Conservative Review reported:

Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Nydia Velázquez, D-N.Y., and Steny Hoyer, D-Md., are pushing the Puerto Rico Status Act, which could grant the territory double benefits of independence and U.S. citizenship for life.

The draft of the bill seeks to “enable the people of Puerto Rico to choose a permanent, nonterritorial, fully self-governing political status for Puerto Rico and to provide for a transition to and the implementation of that permanent, nonterritorial, fully self-governing political status.”

Puerto Rico’s most widely circulated newspaper, El Nuevo Dia, stated Wednesday that “the Democratic leadership and Puerto Rican Federal legislators reached a final agreement last night on the bill that will be introduced in the House of Representatives to propose a Federal plebiscite between statehood, free association and independence.”

This has nothing to do with Puerto Rican independence, it has to do with Democrat votes in Congress.

The article also notes that this act includes many benefits for Puerto Rico, but few responsibilities:

The bill’s options do not include maintaining Puerto Rico’s current status as a U.S. territory. If passed, more than 3 million Puerto Ricans will maintain both their U.S. and Puerto Rican citizenship. They will continue to reap financial benefits — funded by taxpayer dollars — without having to pay any taxes to the United States government.

The bill will also provide “an objective, non-partisan, federally funded education campaign leading up to the vote,” Rep. Velázquez said in a May press conference. “It authorizes the necessary funds to carry out a non-partisan voter education campaign and a national plebiscite and if necessary, a run-off plebiscite.”

“In addition to citizenship, this bill under both independence options would give the new nation of Puerto Rico a block grant equal to all the monies granted to the territory or its citizens during the year before nationhood for ten years,” explained journalist Alice Stewart. “This provision would make the value greater than current spending because there would be no Federal requirements. Finally, after year eleven, the grant would supposedly be reduced by 10% a year.”

Bribing a territory to bring in Democrat votes–how Democratic. It should also be noted that the biggest contributor to the current inflation is out-of-control government spending. This bill would simply add to that problem.

Investigating Social Media Censorship

On July 14th, The Conservative Review posted an article about the ongoing battle between Twitter and free speech. For a real analysis of exactly who and what Twitter is, please read this article from The Conservative Treehouse.

The article at The Conservative Review reports:

Can Congress pass a law requiring that all platforms of speech censor any negative comment about Pfizer? “Well, of course not,” you will say, “it violates the First Amendment.” In that case, why should it be different when the executive branch works intimately with government-created and liability-protected monopolies to zap anyone’s Twitter account who is critical of Pfizer and its magical products? That is not free market or private enterprise; it is the worst form of fascism, and now a new federal court ruling might bring this point to life.

On Tuesday, a federal judge in Louisiana granted the request from the Louisiana and Missouri attorneys general for discovery to collect documents linking the Biden administration to social media censorship. Thanks to this important order, we might be able to discover the scope of collaboration between government and Twitter and Facebook to censor stories (and people) pertaining to the Hunter Biden laptop story, the origins of COVID-19, the efficacy of masks and lockdowns, and election integrity.

On May 5, Missouri AG Eric Schmitt and Louisiana AG Jeff Landry filed a First Amendment complaint against the Biden administration in the Western District of Louisiana alleging that the administration violated the Free Speech Clause by working with the tech giants to label all dissenting viewpoints on the aforementioned issues as “misinformation.” They alleged that this effort is being led by a “Disinformation Governance Board” (“DGB”) within the Department of Homeland Security.

The article concludes:

While the legal dispute plays out in court, it’s time for conservatives in the legislatures to hit back at the RINO governors for continuing to act as if anything COVID-related – be it a vaccine or mask mandate – is somehow coming from the private sector. The government mandated it for some, censored opposing viewpoints, absolved pharma of liability, paid for the product, distributed it, and marketed it. The notion that private actors endorsing these policies is an exercise in free-market capitalism is absurd. It is the responsibility of the state to interpose against such tyranny by banning companies from joining in with the federal policies.

We saw this done very effectively when the Florida Department of Health recommended against the baby shots and refused to distribute them. Publix actually decided on its own to follow the guidance of Florida rather than the federal government. It demonstrates that so much of this enforcement in the private sector is being done with the federal boot on companies’ necks. Those Republicans who hide behind affinity for the “private” sector and free markets to allow federal tyranny, censorship, and persecution to continue are complicit in the worst form of fascism.
The fact that private monopolies get roped into government fascism doesn’t ameliorate the pig; it makes it even more dangerous.

As I write this, I am restricted on Facebook because of posting articles about the effectiveness of the Covid vaccine and the health problems people have experienced as a result of the vaccine. I believe this information should be easily accessible to the public, but evidently Facebook does not. I am not telling people to avoid social media, but I strongly suggest that you find sources other than Facebook and Twitter for your news if you want to get all of the news.

The Real Numbers On How Americans Are Doing Economically

On Saturday, The Conservative Review reported that wage growth for Americans is falling behind the rate of inflation.

The article reports:

The average hourly earnings for fall employees on private nonfarm payrolls rose by only 0.3% in April. This is lower than what was expected by economists, and according to data released from the Bureau of Labor Statistics this past Friday, nominal earnings have increased 5.5% on an annual basis.

This earnings growth rate is far below the rate of inflation. Although April’s inflation numbers are not yet available, the Consumer Price Index grew by 8.5% in the year ending in March.

Real earnings appear to be falling by multiple percentage points.

The article notes:

Furman’s (Jason Furman, the chairman of former President Barack Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers) analysis presented an estimate of wage growth that adjusted for the fact that recently released hourly earnings figures released Friday are affected by hiring practices in the current workforce. For instance, wages might be artificially lowered if more low-income workers are hired back within a given month.

Essentially what this means is that pay rates are not growing fast enough to keep up with the rising costs of daily essentials and other expenses like gas, groceries, and rent.

Falling real wages help explain why voters continue to give President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris poor ratings on their handling of the economy.

The middle class is being negatively impacted under the Biden administration. During the Trump administration the middle class saw increases in wages and upward mobility. Under the Biden administration, the middle class is struggling to hold its own.

In April, the Workforce Participation Rate dropped to 62.2 from 62.4 in March. That indicates that few Americans are in the work force. The highest Workforce Participation Rate in recent history was in February 2020, when it hit 63.4.

What Are We Teaching Our Children?

In a article updated April 13,2022, The Balance reported the following:

The Program for International Student Assessment tests 15-year-old students around the world and is administered by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). In 2018, when the test was last administered, the U.S. placed 11th out of 79 countries in science. It did much worse in math, ranking 30th.2

The U.S. scored 478 in math, below the OECD average of 489. That’s well below the scores of the top five, all of which were in Asia: Singapore at 569, Macao at 555, Hong Kong at 551, Taiwan at 531, and Japan at 527. China was not included in this ranking, since only four provinces participated.3

In science, the United States scored at 502, above the OECD average of 489. The top five highest-scorers were Singapore at 551, Macao at 544, Estonia at 530, Japan at 529, and Finland at 522.

When analyzing the U.S.’s results over the years, it’s clear that the scores have been stable over time. While not declining, there aren’t any signs of improvement, either. In fact, there’s been no detectable change in U.S. students’ math scores since 2003 or science scores since 2006.4

…The IMD World Competitiveness Center reports that the U.S. is ranked 10th in its 2020 Competitiveness Report. After ranking first in 2018, the U.S. fell to the third spot in 2019. The seven-point tumble to 10th place in 2020 represents the lowest the U.S. has ever been in the annual ranking system by far.

So we are obviously not improving the education of American children. So what are we doing instead?

On April 20, The Conservative Review reported the following:

Miller Middle School in San Marcos, Texas is hosting a “Queer Week” where students as young as sixth grade are urged to dress in “pride” colors, wear nametags with preferred names and pronouns, and “protest” LGBT discrimination.

“The goal of the week is to provide a school culture that values diversity, equity and inclusion,” MMS Principal Saumnya Hart told parents in an email forwarded to The Federalist by the school.

According to a “Miller Queer Week” schedule obtained by The Federalist, MMS set aside four school days in April “to provide support for students in the LGTBQIA+ community, their allies, and the greater student and staff body.”

Beginning on Tuesday, April 19, students were encouraged to “share their stories on the wall in the hallway in order to stand against mistreatment.” On Wednesday, students were told to “dress in colors of the rainbow to support the LGTBQ+ community.”

Nametags designated for “pronouns and preferred names” will be supplied for all students on Thursday, according to the “Queer Week” calendar. On Friday, the week is scheduled to close out with a “National Day of Silence” where “LGTBQ+ students and their allies protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGTBQ people in schools.”

The article at The Conservative Review notes that the curriculum and lessons planned for that week violate Texas law. Whether or not that is the case, is this really what we want to spend our time teaching our children? The LGTBQ is an alternative, minority lifestyle. We can accept it as such without bullying, but we don’t have to celebrate it.

What Corruption?

On Thursday, The Conservative Review reported that according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) records, Democrat South Carolina Representative James Clyburn has distributed more than $200,000 in campaign funds to entities controlled by his relatives.

The article reports:

Clyburn, the third-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives, has made 15 rental payments to a company controlled by a daughter and son-in-law, and 39 direct payments to another daughter and son-in-law. Clyburn’s grandson also appears to be a salaried employee, and has received twice-monthly payments from the Clyburn campaign since October 2021.

The article concludes:

Overall, Friends of Jim Clyburn has paid Clyburn’s family members and entities they control $236,412 since 2010.

Clyburn’s office did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller’s request for comment on the matter.

Clyburn is one of several members of Congress who have funneled money to relatives through campaign accounts in recent years. Democratic Connecticut Rep. Jahana Hayes paid her adult children more than $35,000 out of campaign funds since entering Congress in 2021. Democratic California Rep. Maxine Waters paid her daughter more than $100,000 during the 2018 election cycle.

Republican Idaho Rep. Russ Fulcher paid family members $69,000 during the 2020 election cycle.

Actually, this doesn’t bother me as much as some of the other corruption in Washington does. It shouldn’t be a problem for a candidate to do business with or hire family members. However, those business and family members should be paid according to the going rate for the services they provide. For instance, a family member who is not a ‘volunteer’ stuffing envelopes (do they still do that?) in an office should be paid what people stuffing envelopes are usually paid. For that person to receive a $100,000 a year salary is a problem. The bigger picture is that what we are seeing is how someone middle class can come to Washington to ‘serve’ and leave a few years later as a millionaire with millionaire family members. That is the problem.

How To Get The Attention Of Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday, The Conservative Review reported that Texas Governor Greg Abbot has stated that he was going to have charter buses ship illegal aliens to Washington D.C. and drop them off at the steps of the U.S. Capitol.

The article reports:

Abbott made the comments at a media briefing announcing the steps his administration would take to respond to the Biden administration rescinding Title 42 and the expected massive wave of illegal immigrants.

“To help local officials whose communities are being overwhelmed by hordes of illegal immigrants who are being dropped off by the Biden administration, Texas is providing charter buses to send these illegal aliens who have been dropped off by the Biden administration to Washington, D.C.,” said Abbott.

“We are sending them to the United States Capitol where the Biden Administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they’re allowing to come across our border,” he added.

Abbott said he was ordering the Texas Division of Emergency Management to operate the project.

State officials said they were ready to activate up to 900 charter buses, according to Fox News reporter Bill Melugin.

Title 42 was a controversial policy put in place under the Trump administration in response to the threat of coronavirus infections among the illegal immigrant community. Experts worry that without the policy, hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants and refugee applicants would flood over the U.S.-Mexico border.

Washington, D.C., has been deaf to the cries of the border states concerning the problems caused by the surge of illegal immigrants the Biden administration (with the help of Congress) has encouraged to come to America. The Biden administration has shipped thousands of illegals all over the country without providing any means or financial aid to care for the influx of people who generally arrive with nothing. I firmly agree with Governor Abbot’s idea of bringing the problem to those who caused it in the hope that they will look for a solution.
