President Obama pledged to go through the federal budget and end wasteful spending by eliminating all items that were wasteful. Sounds like a great idea--but it's unconstitutional--the President does not have the power of line-item veto. Budget matters are supposed to be left to Congress. This is a promise that cannot be legally kept.
If President Obama went through the budget and elimiated all 'pork', the stimulus bill would have been about $300,000--not $800,000!
