Last night The Conservative Treehouse reported the following:

Following a federal judge vacating the federal mask mandate on transportation, the TSA responded, “TSA (Transportation Security Administration) will not enforce its Security Directives and Emergency Amendment requiring mask use on public transportation and transportation hubs at this time.”

Within hours, various airlines began notifying customers the mask mandate is gone:

♦ American Airlines – “In accordance with the Transportation Security Administration no longer enforcing the federal face mask mandate, face masks will no longer be required for our customers and team members at U.S. airports and on domestic flights.” (link)

♦ Southwest Airlines – “As a result of this development, effectively immediately, Southwest Employees and Customers will be able to choose whether they would like to wear a mask, and we encourage individuals to make the best decision to support their personal wellbeing.” (link)

♦ Delta Airlines – “Effective immediately, masks are optional for all airport employees, crew members and customers inside U.S. airports and on board all aircraft domestically, as well as on most international flights.” (link)

♦ Alaska Airlines – “Effective immediately, all Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air guests and employees have the option to wear a mask while traveling in the U.S. and at work. Masks are no longer required for travel and will be optional.” (link)

United Airlines – No press release. “Masks are no longer required on domestic flights, select international flights (dependent upon the arrival country’s requirements) or at U.S. airports. More comfortable keeping yours on? Go right ahead… the choice is yours (you look dino-mite either way)!” ~Twitter

The article concludes:

Additionally, with all the major carriers and the TSA making official statements, it would be almost impossible to reinstate the mask mandate now.

It’s over.

Now let’s see a court ruling on vaccine mandates. They also need to end.

What Should The Sentence Be?

On Wednesday, The New York Post posted an article about a man arrested for identity theft. Based on the information provided in the article, this should be a fairly simply case, but the case illustrates some of the flaws in our justice system.

The article is about Ricardo Cesar Guedes, 49, a Brazilian man who worked as a flight attendant for United Airlines for two decades. The problem is that Mr. Guedes worked under the name of William Ericson Ladd — an Atlanta boy who died in a Washington state car crash in 1979. Mr. Guedes stole the identity to avoid the paperwork and hassle involved in becoming an American citizen.

The article reports:

Ricardo Cesar Guedes, 49, is accused of stealing the identity of William Ericson Ladd — an Atlanta boy who died in a Washington state car crash in 1979 — to apply for a US passport in 1998 and renew it six times through 2020, according to a federal complaint.

Guedes, a native of Sao Paulo, then used the dead boy’s name while getting married and taking out a mortgage in Houston, according to the complaint, which lists his occupation as a flight attendant for United Airlines.

There is no record of him applying or receiving US citizenship through naturalization, according to the complaint.

…Ladd’s mother, Debra Lynn Hays, confirmed her son died to State Department investigators last July, according to the complaint charging Guedes with aggravated identity theft, making false statements on a passport application and other counts.

It is quite likely that Mr. Guedes will spend some time in prison, but let’s back up a minute and look at the larger picture. Had Mr. Guedes come into the country illegally through the southern border and simply stolen someone’s social security number, would there be charges? Does that fact that he acted responsibly for two decades while posing as a citizen count in his favor?

Using The Media To Tell A Lie

Yesterday Gateway Pundit posted a story about a recent incident on a United Airlines flight. It involved a Muslim woman who claimed that she was discriminated against and not given a full can of soda because the flight attendant allegedly told her the can could be ‘used as a weapon.’ The flight attendant was disciplined by the airlines for Islamophobic behavior. If you routinely fly airlines in America, you know that the flight attendants are generally very professional and polite, so the story may sound a little odd to begin with. Well, it turns out that the story is a total lie.

The article reports what actually happened as seen by someone else on the plane:

A passenger on the plane says the woman is lying.

A commenter at FlyerTalk has a different take on the story:

I was actually on this flight on Friday evening from ORD to DCA. I have been a reader of this forum for a long time but seeing this all over the news made me sign up so I could tell you what really happened here and hopefully stop this liar in her tracks. I was sitting close enough to her to hear everything that was said. The flight attendant came up to the lady (I believe she even took her order first in the entire cabin as she was seated in the bulkhead 7d) and took her order. She ordered a coke zero and a hot green tea with a Splenda. The flight attendant handed her a full diet coke with a cup on top and then told her that the green tea would take a few minutes and she would get it to her ASAP. The lady said very rudely and condescending to the FA that she ordered a coke zero and basically pushed the soda back to the flight attendant. The FA said she was sorry and attempted to find a coke zero for her (which she did not have many of) and told her that she could only give her a portion of the can not the full can. This is when the lady in question started to freak out and told the FA “What do you think I will use this as a weapon?! Why can’t I have the whole can? I think you are discriminating against me. I need your name….” The lady just kept yelling to her “I need your name… I am being discriminated against.” This is when a few passengers told her to calm down and one guy told her to “shut her mouth and she is being ridiculous over a can of coke”. No one ever said anything anti-Muslim to her at all. She was the one who started screaming discrimination when she did not get what she wanted. The FA asked her numerous times if she would like anything else when the lady just basically pushed her away with a hand in her face. The lady then got onto her phone with her credit card and paid for the internet so she could start spinning this story on social media and she was never in tears. This person is a liar plain and simple and is just pulling the discrimination card.

CAIR activist Tahera Ahmad was the person making the accusation that the flight attendant discriminated against her. It is no coincidence that the claim was made by a CAIR activist. CAIR is the Council on American-Islamic Relations. The organization was named in the Holy Land Foundation Trial as an unindicted co conspirator. It is the legal arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America. If you look up the government exhibits in the Holy Land Foundation Trial (if they have not been purged from the Internet), you will see CAIR mentioned. There are also a number of articles about the trial on this blog.
