On Saturday, The Daily Wire posted the following headline:

CCP Billionaire Secretly Bought 200,000 Acres Of U.S. Farmland

Why are we selling large tracts of farmland to people who want us destroyed?

The article reports:

Back in October, the Department of Agriculture estimated that Chinese entities owned around 400,000 acres of U.S. farmland, which translates to more than $2 billion dollars. Though it’s a fraction of foreign-owned farmland, the number has alarmed lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, since it’s been dramatically increasing over the past decade as China becomes more and more adversarial toward the U.S.

At the time, it was acknowledged that the 400,000 acre estimate was likely far lower than the real number. For one thing, there’s been an antiquated paper-based reporting system for foreign owned-land, and if someone owns less than 10 acres, it doesn’t have to be reported, nor does someone leasing land.

“Right now, we don’t know the full extent of the risk at hand,” Democrat Sen. Tammy Baldwin (WI) said. “Outdated reporting systems and a lack of auditing at both the state and federal level leave us with incomplete information and many questions.” 

Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik (NY) told the Post on Saturday that the Biden administration has “dropped the ball” when it comes to foreign adversaries goggling up American farmland.

“Communist China is purchasing US agricultural land to subvert our sovereignty, undermine our agriculture industry, encroach on our military installations, and upend America’s rural communities,” she said.

The article also notes:

It’s been estimated that some 31,000 Chinese nations were stopped by law enforcement at our border, a CNN report highlighted. According to U.S. Customs and Border Patrol data, the U.S. would typically only see around 1,500 Chinese nationals in a given year over the previous decade.

An Awful Record

On Monday, Red State reported that for the first time, migrant encounters at the border have surpassed two million in one year.

The article reports:

While Southern Border security under Donald Trump was a mixed bag — despite Trump’s protestations to the contrary — his plan to force Mexico to stem the flow of illegals into the U.S. was largely effective.

By contrast, Biden’s intentional illegal alien disaster, including planeloads of untold numbers of illegals shipped across the country in the dead of night, constitutes a clear and present danger to America’s security and that of the American people — millions and millions of deadly doses of fentanyl included.

Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) announced Monday that there were 199,976 migrant encounters in July, taking the total for this fiscal year to 1.946 million encounters. But CBP sources tell Fox that since then, the number has now surpassed the two million mark, a milestone previously unhit. 2021, the previous record-setting year, saw more than 1.7 million encounters. Clearly, the reality is dire and it continues to worsen.

Kamala Harris and Karine Jean-Pierre were unavailable for comment.

Speaking of the twin serial liars, not even NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd buys Kamala Harris’s “secure border lie.” And Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who doesn’t suffer fools gladly, dropped a truth MOAB on Jean-Pierre after she delusionally claimed the fiery Texan doesn’t “truly care about border security.”

And Joe Biden? He likely has no idea what the hell is going on as he continues to lie.

God help us.

The price for an open border is being paid for in South American lives and in American lives. South Americans are being trafficked when they come to America (after having been lured here by the promise of the open border) and Americans are dying from the fentanyl being smuggled in by the Cartels. At this time, the Cartels are in charge of America’s southern border, and Americans have no one to blame but themselves. If those in Washington feared that they would not be reelected unless the border was closed, the border would be closed. Both Republicans and Democrats are keeping the border open. The only way to close it is to unelect anyone who fails to support laws that would close the border.

Making A Difficult Job More Difficult

On Sunday, The Western Journal posted an article about a new requirement put on our Border Patrol (as if they didn’t already have enough to deal with).

The article reports:

While keeping track of illegal immigrants flooding across America’s Southern Border, Border Patrol agents also have to keep track of their pronouns.

A Department of Homeland Security release last week extolling the changes made as part of the Transgender Day of Visibility said that changes are coming to Customs and Border Protection staff as part of what was termed “[f]acilitating effective communication at U.S. ports of entry and beyond.”

“CBP has provided a job aid and memorandum to all staff that will serve as a guide for facilitating effective communication with the diverse public CBP serves, including LGBTQI+ individuals. The guidance includes using gender-neutral language and an individual’s self-identified pronouns and name,” the DHS release said.

I hate to be difficult, but if you have crossed into America illegally, I don’t care what your pronouns are–I simply want you to go home.

The article continues:

According to Fox News, about 2,000 illegal immigrants per day enter the U.S. because Border Patrol agents simply can’t get to them while dealing with others who have crossed illegally.

The flood is expected to get worse next month when the Biden administration officially lifts what’s known as Title 42, a health policy invoked during the pandemic that led to many illegal immigrants being turned back.

…“If there’s a strategy in place, we haven’t seen it. It hasn’t been disseminated to us, and there’s no way you can prepare in a month and a half for what is expected to be a mass illegal migration crisis,” he (National Border Patrol Council President Brandon) explained. “The only thing this administration is going to be able to do is just release people on a mass scale, that’s it. That’s all they can do.”

Agents “feel like we’re waving the white flag of surrender right now,” he said. “They feel like we are completely giving control of the border to the cartels.”

No sovereign nation can continue to exist without a secure border. So what is the end game of the Biden administration?

A Representative Speaks About The Border And The Shutdown

On Saturday, The Alpha News, posted a column by U.S. Representative Jack Bergman.

Representative Bergman wrote:

For those of us who call the Upper Peninsula and northern Michigan home, the discussion around border security is often different than what we see on the nightly news. The challenges for U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Agents and other federal, state and local law enforcement in the Soo vary greatly from those of their southern border counterparts. The commonality is we share the same goal: the safety and security of our citizens.

As the national debate rages on, we must remember that our nation is a welcoming nation and built by immigrants. I know firsthand — my grandparents immigrated from Sweden to the Upper Peninsula to start a new life.

Though, equally as true as the aforementioned: We are a nation of borders, as well as law and order. But our immigration system is broken — and to argue otherwise would be dishonest. From an ineffective visa system to porous borders, decades of disinterest, lazy legislation, and bureaucratic opposition have encouraged bad actors to take advantage of our current system. It’s not fair to put the needs of our citizens or of those who come here legally below those who enter illegally.

President Donald Trump is right to call this a crisis, and we have a unique opportunity right now to address these issues head on. Fixing our immigration system starts first and foremost with secure borders. Without that, everything else falls apart. While most are hoping to enter our country for a good reason, we can’t turn a blind eye to the facts. Over the past two years, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested close to 300,000 criminal illegal immigrants in our country — 3,900 on murder charges, 27,000 on sex-related charges, 99,000 on assault-related charges, and over 160,000 on criminal traffic charges, such as driving under the influence.

Congress has the constitutional duty and obligation to provide for the safety and security of our citizens, and it’s time we put aside partisan games and secure our borders. U.S. Customs and Border Patrol have identified the need for 234 miles of physical barrier (read: wall) on our southern border.

Yet, Nancy Pelosi and many other “leaders” have radically dismissed the notion of walls being a necessary part of securing a border.

This is not campaign rhetoric or pandering for votes. This is a crisis of our own making. We are in the longest — and most avoidable — government shutdown in U.S. history. Those most vital to protecting our borders, coasts, and ports have now missed at least one paycheck, with little to no progress being made in Washington.

It’s time to end this shutdown, secure our borders, and get our government open and working for the people.

Come to the table Democrats.

Real News Or Fake News

An article was posted at The Federalist today with the following headline:

“Fake News Claiming Border Checkpoints During Hurricane Harvey Is Why Americans Hate The Media“

So what is this about?

The article reports:

On Friday, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) released a grossly inaccurate and inflammatory statement in response to the unremarkable news that the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol would not close any internal checkpoints in Texas during the hurricane.

“As people seek refuge from hurricane Harvey, they are likely to have to go north or west of Texas and would have to go through a checkpoint. By keeping checkpoints open, the Border Patrol is putting undocumented people and mixed-status families at risk out of fear of deportations,” said Lorella Praeli, the ACLU’s director of immigration policy and campaigns. “This is a disgusting move from the Border Patrol that breaks with past practices. The Border Patrol should never keep checkpoints open during any natural disasters in the United States. Everyone, no matter the color of their skin or background, is worth saving.”

The problem is, there are no checkpoints in the areas affected by the storm, and no one fleeing Hurricane Harvey will encounter a Border Patrol checkpoint. The closest checkpoints are about 80 and 50 miles southwest of Corpus Christi and cover northbound routes from the Rio Grande Valley. No one fleeing the hurricane or the flooding along the coast would be headed north on these routes because they don’t lead inland to higher ground.

So basically, the statement by the ACLU is false.

It’s no surprise that partisan left-wing outlets like Daily Kos would run hysterical and false coverage under the headline, “Border Patrol is trying to arrest undocumented immigrants fleeing Hurricane Harvey,” but Quartz is supposed to be rather more mainstream. Timmons is Quartz’s White House correspondent and an alumnus of The New York Times and BusinessWeek. She appears to be a professional journalist and should by all accounts be credible. Yet she has written a story—in fact, re-written an ACLU press release as a legitimate news story—that has almost no credibility. How did this happen?

The article concludes:

This in turn reinforces to ordinary Americans the sense that the media has so badly lost perspective about Trump that they are willing to lie and fabricate stories in order to attack a president who is otherwise vulnerable to a plain reporting of the truth. In short, this is why Americans don’t trust the media.

No person familiar with the U.S. Constitution opposes freedom of the press. However, it would be nice if the press used that freedom to honestly report the events of the day. I don’t mind if reporting is biased, as long as the reporter admits his bias. However, outright lying is an entirely different thing. There is no relationship between anything the left-wing media is reporting about President Trump or his administration and the truth. That is a very dangerous place for our country to be. Unless Americans develop their own reliable news sources, they will be too uniformed to vote intelligently.

I am reminded of a conversation with a friend a few years ago. This friend relies strictly on The New York Times as his news source. I asked him about two stories that were relatively important. He knew nothing about either one of them. It is sad when readers of a newspaper with a legacy like The New York Times can be considered uninformed voters. Bias in the media has as much to do with what is not reported as it does with the slant of what actually is reported.
