Power Line Blog posted an article today by Dan Diker of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs concerning the recent trip to the Middle East by John Kerry.  Senator John Kerry’s visit to Gaza and Syria was well received in Tehran–Israel was immediately attacked by rockets fired from southern Lebanon and Gaza.  The American outreach is actually strengthening Hamas and undermining PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas on the Palestinian Street.

This sort of outreach will have exactly the opposite effect intended.  We need to realize that the goal of Syria and Iran is the destruction of Israel.  When we strengthen our ties with Syria and Iran, we imperil Israel’s existence.  The sort of outreach that John Kerry is doing will not bring peace–it will only hasten the next war.
