Former Republican State Party Chairman Jim Rappaport Has Endorsed Marty Lamb For Congress

Former Republican State Party Chairman Jim Rappaport has announced his support for Marty Lamb for Congress (Marty is running against Jim McGovern in the Third Congressional District in Massachusetts).

According to the press release from Marty Lamb’s campaign:

“We need more business leaders serving in Congress. That’s why I am supporting Marty Lamb. He is the only candidate, Republican or Democrat, running who has signed the front of a paycheck and created jobs. Marty knows first-hand the burdens the federal government places on small businesses and how mandates are job killers,” said Rappaport.

Speaking of the actions of our current Congressional leaders, Marty Lamb stated:

“As a small business owner, I never sign a contract before knowing what is in it. But yet Congress passed the national health care mandate without fully understand its costs or impact on our economy. That’s wrong,” said Lamb. “At a minimum taxpayer will have to fund $1 trillion to pay for Obamacare. Where is the money gong to come from? Taxpayers? China?”

Marty Lamb’s plan on spending (called the Lamb Chop Plan) includes items that all American taxpayers are concerned about:

1. Instituting a balanced budget amendment
2. Passing a Line Item Veto
3. Limiting government spending to rate of inflation (TABOR)
4. Hiring freeze for all non-essential employees
5. Paying off the national debt
6. Moratorium on new entitlements
7. Establishing a Sunset Committee
8. Ending off-budget expenditures
9. Prohibiting bailouts
10. Taking back unspent TARP funds

I need to mention that I have been working for Marty Lamb’s campaign since he began gathering signatures.  I have never worked on a political campaign before, but I felt as if it was time to get involved and to support people who understood how small business works.  I have been very impressed by the people I have met who are also working on the campaign and the fact that I am not the only person who has not been involved in a campaign before.  Marty Lamb’s campaign is truly ‘grass roots’, and I believe he has a good chance of defeating Jim McGovern in November.

  1. Marty Lamb has not hidden the fact that he was formerly a Democrat. I guess I can relate to this–I voted for George McGovern in 1972. I seem to remember that Ronald Reagan had also been a Democrat at one time, and I would never call him a RINO! I am actively working on the Marty Lamb campaign–I have personally talked issues with Marty Lamb on numerous occasions, and I can assure you that he is not a RINO. I am sorry that you are either misinformed or unwilling to allow people to rethink their political positions. Extend a little grace–Marty is the man who will best represent Massachusetts’ Third Congressional District.

  2. Here’s the facts on record.
Mr. Herr donated to Democrats, too, and much more recent, admitted to that on WRKO with Howie Carr. Mr. Herr is liberal on guns, abortion, and made fun of the no new taxes pledge. Mr. Stopa only voted in the last two elections. He did not vote abroad.
Mr. Lamb was unenrolled (independent) for at least a few decades. Mr. Lamb was the first candidate involved with the Tea Parties back in April 2009. Most in the Tea Parties are unenrolled voters who are more conservative than registered R’s. Mr. Lamb has the conservative credentials. Many are also very pro-2nd amendment, and there are those NRA members who will contribute to people on both sides of the aisle. It’s an important issue. The few donations that Mr. Lamb made were back in 2004 and that was as part of a non-partisan group raising money for candidates on both sides of the aisle with a pro-Israel position. Republicans received donations, too. These are examples of issue oriented donations.
In summary, there are many conservatives in the Tea Parties, and we vote for people who share our values. We know Marty Lamb, and he does share our values and stands strongly for them. We support Marty Lamb for Congress. We know a Congressman Marty Lamb will vote based on his conservative principles and not cave like the other RINOs in the race.

  3. If you are going to attack someone at least get your facts straight! Marty Lamb was NEVER a registered Democrate. He has always been a conservative independent. And he has never hidden that. The fact that he voted dem in local elections doesn’t make one a registered dem. Grow up people! However, if you’re going there…Ronald Reagan was a dem before he switched to Repub. and was the BEST president America has had in a long time. Dick Morris was a dem and even helped Clinton’s campaign. Look at him now. Quite the conservative Republican. If you are going to attack Marty, please try to attack him as he is today. You can’t. His plans are clear. He is a conservative Republican with Tea Party values. Try moving on to something new to attack him on…this is getting old. http://www.martyforcongress.com The BEST chance we have of beating McGovernment!
