September 11, 2001 seems a million years away. The war on terror doesn't seem like a reality. Unless you lost someone on September 11 or in the wars that have followed, it all seems very distant. We don't need to dwell on September 11 or the war on terror, but we do need to remember that the people who brought us September 11 are still out there plotting. There is a slideshow of images of September 11 at Little Green Footballs under 'slideshows' in the left hand margin of the site. It's not a bad idea to look through the slides every now and then to remember what happened, the bravery of many people on that day, and what we are up against.
Just a note, Charles Krauthammer on Special Report the other night commented on the US raid into Syria. He pointed out that if your objective is to kill a terrorest leader, you use a predator drone. If your objective is to bring something out--a person, computer, or something else, you send in people. I wonder how many attacks on our troops and possibly on our country will be stopped because of that raid.
