Kudos To The Showcase Live In Foxboro

My husband and I attended at concert by David Grisman and John Sebastian tonight at the Showcase Live in Foxboro tonight.  First, my comments on the place.  The Patriot Place people have done a fantastic job on creating the Showcase Live venue.  It was an intimate dinner concert.  The food was very good, the service was excellent, and the seating was comfortable and very close to the stage.  There was a small glitch as we were leaving.  We were in a line of traffic that stood still for ten minutes, but once the traffic began to move, we were on Route 1 within five minutes.  That's pretty good considering that the soccer game let out at the same time as the concert.  Second, my comments on the show.  David and John are veteran performers with a wealth of experience and talent in various types of music between them.  They don't need light shows and smoke, they just need some mandolins, guitars, banjos, harmonicas, and an autoharp.  They came out, sat in their chairs, picked up their instruments, and off we were.  Their music program was varied and interesting and a joy to hear.  They even paid tribute to the Carter family and their role in bringing us country and folk music.  The sound was loud enough to be heard clearly, but not overly loud.  The sound mixing was great--not a lot of effects, just clean music.  We were thoroughly impressed.
